Machine Operator – Columbia City, IN

Starting Pay: $20/hour
Schedule: 12-Hour Rotating Shifts 7-7 (Days or Nights)
Union-must be willing to switch shifts at any time

Job Overview

We are seeking dependable, safety-focused Machine Operators to join our team in a heavy industrial foundry environment. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure quality output, efficiency, and workplace safety. The position is hands-on, fast-paced, and physically active, making it a great fit for individuals who enjoy working with machinery and being part of a strong team.

This is a stable, long-term opportunity with consistent hours and built-in overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery according to procedures

• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently

• Load raw materials and remove finished products

• Inspect parts for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed

• Maintain production records and documentation

• Perform basic troubleshooting and communicate issues to maintenance

• Keep work areas clean and organized

• Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements

Work Environment

• Heavy industrial / foundry setting

• Hot temperatures and demanding conditions

• Standing for long periods

• Regular lifting up to 50 lbs

• Team-oriented, fast-paced production floor

Schedule Details (Rotating 12s)

This position follows a rotating union schedule with built-in overtime:

Short Week (36 hours):
Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

Long Week (48 hours):
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday

Includes 8 hours of overtime each week.
Must be flexible to switch between day and night shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to work in hot and physically demanding conditions

• Strong attention to detail and safety

• Reliable attendance and work ethic

• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts
