Production Worker - Akron, OH

Shifts: Monday–Thursday: 6:30 AM–3:15 PM and Friday: 6:30 AM–2:00 PM

Pay rate: $17.00/hour with weekly pay.

Job Description:

Prestigious Akron-area distributor of diamond jewelry is looking to add individuals to their Production team in Portage Lakes, OH. This is the perfect job for anyone interested in starting a career in jewelry making or jewelry production/repair, with opportunities to advance to a Jeweler Apprentice role. Candidates must be open to overtime throughout the year, especially during peak seasons. Immediate start dates are available. While preference will be given to candidates with previous jeweler experience, this is also a great opportunity for hobbyists who enjoy building or making jewelry and have some experience using a variety of hand tools for crafting or building. Ideal candidates should have basic computer skills and be comfortable working with very small items.

Job Duties:

You will start as a Production Jeweler, focusing on resizing and polishing various rings and other jewelry.

• Use high-speed tools and high-temperature equipment.
• Be responsible for the processing and control of new and customer-owned jewelry.
• Train to perform various technical jewelry repairs, including gold and silver sizing, re-shanking, soldering, prong repair, polishing, refinishing, stone setting, and more.
• Participate in team member meetings.

Qualifications:

• 1 year of jewelry repair experience is preferred.
• Candidates with jewelry, gemstone, or mechanical experience at a hobbyist level are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination is required.
• Computer and data entry skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and have strong communication skills.
