Advanced Practice Provider in Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine

The Advanced Practice Provider in Emergency and Urgent Care Medicine plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, timely care in a fast-paced environment. This position handles a high patient volume, often over 20 patients per shift, and works both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and specialists. The provider performs a broad range of duties including patient assessment, emergency interventions, and procedural skills such as wound care, suturing, and splinting, while engaging in continuous professional development through mentorship and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients presenting with urgent and emergency conditions
• Provide emergency care and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Perform diagnostic evaluations and manage medication prescribing
• Execute procedural skills including basic wound care, suturing, casting, and splinting
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Coordinate care across multiple disciplines and collaborate closely with physicians
• Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in emergency and urgent care medicine
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• State Advanced Practice Provider license
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong knowledge of emergency medicine, urgent care, and pharmacology
• Proficiency in patient assessment, clinical procedures, and electronic health records (EHR)
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills
