Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and night shift availability.
Details
- Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to the ER in an assist capacity
- Uses Epic EMR
- Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, endocrine, renal, and respiratory cases
- Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, pacemaker care, post-cardiac angiogram and post-MI care, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, renal failure management, port access and management, blood product administration, PICC/central line/peripheral line care, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, heparin protocols, cardiac/vasoactive drip management and titration, thrombolytic agents, CVA and seizure disorder care, substance withdrawal management, total joint replacement care, ABGs, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care, wound care and wound vac, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Some critical care responsibilities are included in this role
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- PALS preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
