Associate Veterinarian (DVM) – Private, Independently Owned Small Animal Practice

Location: 11 miles west of Newark, NJ (Northern New Jersey)

We are a well-established, privately and independently owned small animal veterinary hospital seeking a full-time Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) to join our team. Our practice is dedicated exclusively to dogs and cats, and we are deeply committed to providing personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care in a supportive, non-corporate environment.

Our Facility & Capabilities We handle a wide range of cases, including more complex medical and surgical procedures. On staff is a residency-trained surgeon.
Equipment includes:

• Complete in-house laboratory
• Digital radiography and digital dental radiography
• Ultrasound
• Therapeutic laser
• Full anesthetic monitoring equipment
• Telemedicine for specialist review of radiographs

Schedule & Work/Life Balance

We are very focused on work/life balance:

• Four-day work week considered full-time
• Office hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday–Friday, with Saturday mornings
• No ER or on-call duties
• Designated surgery days
• 30-minute appointments for routine cases
• Excellent 3:1 staff-to-doctor ratio with a team of long-term, dedicated staff
