Description:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to join a growing aerospace manufacturing operation in Hudson, MA. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist with strong setup experience who takes pride in producing high-precision components and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines for precision manufacturing operations
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Utilize micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure compliance with design specifications
• Monitor machining operations and maintain consistent product quality
• Replace worn tooling and cutting inserts as needed
• Complete setup, inspection, and production documentation
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including coolant and oil checks, lubrication, and chip removal
• Safely move materials and components using cranes and lifting fixtures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
• Proven CNC lathe setup experience required
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical drawings
• GD&T knowledge required
• Basic understanding of G-Code and CNC machine operations
• Experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot setup-related issues
• Experience in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Additional Information

This position is primarily assigned to 2nd Shift (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM). Occasional coverage on 1st Shift may be required based on business needs. Shift differential applies only to hours worked on the designated 2nd Shift schedule.
