Job Description
SPCA located in northern Virginia is seeking an experienced Veterinarian for a leadership position. This role focuses primarily on the medical care of animals in SPCA custody, including intake,
population management, infectious disease control, and high-volume spay/neuter services.
● Provide high-quality preventive and medical care to shelter animals, including:
o Intake examinations and triage
o Medical rounds and treatment planning
o Population health management
● Perform high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and other surgical procedures for shelter
animals.
● Oversee anesthesia, surgical flow, and post-operative care protocols.
Seeking a full time Veterinarian but schedule can be flexible. (current Veterinarian doing 3x12 hour shifts). No weekends, no ER requirements. Facility is fully equipped with digital xray, digital dental, dentistry equipment, complete in house lab equipment and anesthetic monitoring. Fully intubate and monitor each anesthetic patient. Good mix of outpatient, shelter and surgical patient cases. Offers competitive salary, relocation and student loan repayment.
