Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Machinist to join a growing advanced manufacturing company supporting the production of precision components, tooling, and equipment used in cutting-edge industrial applications. This role will play a critical part in building, repairing, and improving tooling and custom-machined parts while supporting both production and engineering teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


This position offers the opportunity to work on highly specialized projects, collaborate with engineers on prototype development, and contribute directly to process improvements and operational excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment
  • Manufacture, repair, and modify tooling, dies, fixtures, gauges, and custom components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Perform precision machining operations while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Support prototype development and engineering projects by producing custom parts and tooling
  • Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues and recommend improvements
  • Maintain tooling inventory and organize the toolroom according to 5S standards
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records within company systems
  • Follow all safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, and PPE guidelines
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Assist with additional machining, maintenance, and operational tasks as needed


Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a toolroom, machine shop, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating manual and/or CNC machining equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Basic computer skills and experience documenting work activities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
