We are seeking a driven and hands-on Sous Chef to support kitchen leadership in a high-volume, seafood-driven restaurant. This role partners closely with the Chef de Cuisine to execute the culinary vision, maintain operational excellence, and lead a high-performing kitchen team.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, consistency in execution, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Execution

  • Execute daily menus featuring fresh seafood and a robust oyster program
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards at all times
  • Lead line execution during service and support all prep operations

Leadership & Team Development

  • Train, mentor, and develop BOH team members
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-first kitchen culture
  • Support staffing, scheduling, and performance management

Operations & Cost Control

  • Monitor food, labor, and supply costs to meet financial targets
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and proper storage procedures
  • Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and safety compliance

Collaboration

  • Partner with FOH leadership to ensure seamless service execution
  • Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine on menu development and operational improvements

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 2–4+ years of Sous Chef or strong kitchen leadership experience
  • Background in high-volume, seafood or chef-driven concepts preferred
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced service environments
  • Strong understanding of food cost, labor management, and kitchen systems
  • Positive, team-oriented leadership style with strong communication skills
  • Passion for quality ingredients, hospitality, and continuous improvement

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
  • Additional earnings through Kitchen Appreciation Fee Pool
  • 2+ weeks PTO (increases with tenure)
