Job Description
Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your passion for helping students succeed to this rewarding contract opportunity starting in August 2026 and running through May 2027. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP or CFY), you'll work with K-12th grade students in a school setting, supporting their communication goals and helping them thrive. Placement details will be confirmed during the interview process, as schools finalize staffing assignments and specific site needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLP license or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- ASHA CCCs or in the process of obtaining (if applicable)
- Previous experience with school-age children is welcome but not required
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting a diverse student population
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to K-12 students as outlined in their IEPs
- Assess, diagnose, and document students’ communication disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective intervention plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment
- Adapt therapy approaches for a wide range of ages and language needs
- Track student progress, maintaining detailed and confidential records
Role Highlights:
- Full-time assignment: 37.5 hours per week, following the academic calendar
- Orientation begins August 3, 2026; students return August 6, 2026, assignment continues through May 27, 2027
