Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing speech-language therapy in a picturesque region known for its lakeside charm, vineyards, and covered bridges. This specialized, non-public charter school serves students K-12, all with Autism (non-violent behaviors), fostering a collaborative and supportive environment with a remarkable 1:2 staff-to-student ratio. With a current caseload of approximately 25-30 students—and a maximum possible of 45—you’ll make a profound impact in a close-knit setting across two conveniently located school sites.

As a speech-language pathologist, you’ll collaborate regularly with occupational therapists and run engaging social and pragmatics groups. Many students utilize communication systems such as Proloquo2Go and LAMP, so experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is highly valued. The position offers flexibility with 6-hour days, built within the school’s hours of 8:30 am - 2:30 pm, providing an excellent work-life balance in the stunning Grand River Valley region.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current SLP-CCC credentials and eligibility for Ohio licensure/ODE certification
  • Pediatric school-based SLP experience; teletherapy background a plus
  • Familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder and augmentative/alternative communication devices
  • Ability to bill Medicaid is highly preferred
  • Experience or willingness to co-treat and lead group therapy sessions
  • On-site availability is required; travelers seeking OH licensure are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct speech-language services to a small, dynamic student group
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (including OT)
  • Conduct group sessions targeting social and pragmatic skills
  • Support students utilizing AAC devices
  • Optional: Assume IEP and evaluation duties if able to bill Medicaid

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage

Apply today to shape students’ communication journeys while enjoying the natural beauty and vibrant culture of this lakeside community!
