Director of Facilities

Location: Honolulu, HI
Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time • On-call (holidays, weekends, emergencies)

Express Employment has partnered with high-rise healthcare facility serving residents in a regulated care environment. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll oversee building operations, maintenance, and environmental services while leading a team of ~20 staff across maintenance, housekeeping, and security.

The ideal candidate brings healthcare or long-term care industry experience, understands regulatory requirements, and is comfortable balancing team leadership with hands-on problem solving. You'll work closely with leaders and ensure the facility runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance at all times.

What You'll Do

• Oversee daily facility operations, maintenance, and preventative programs
• Lead and supervise maintenance, EVS, and support staff (~20 employees)
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, safety, and regulatory standards
• Manage building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety)
• Handle on-call emergencies and perform hands-on repairs as needed
• Maintain schedules, inspections, and operational systems
• Coordinate vendors, inspections, and facility improvements

What We're Looking For

• Background in healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care strongly preferred
• Experience managing teams in facility or maintenance operations
• Hands-on maintenance or general handyman experience
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards
• Ability to lead, prioritize, and respond in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license
