Associate Attorney

Starting Salary: $150,000 - $160,000

Billable Hour Requirement - 120 - 125 / Per Month 

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to support our litigation practice. The Associate Attorney will manage a diverse caseload, counsel clients, draft and negotiate contracts, and represent clients in civil and regulatory matters, with an emphasis on workers' compensation and civil litigation. This role requires strong legal writing, case management, and advocacy skills to achieve excellent outcomes for clients while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide client counseling on legal risks, strategy, and case status; maintain responsive, professional client communications.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, settlement agreements, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with attention to detail and risk allocation.
  • Manage litigation matters from intake through resolution, including developing case strategy, overseeing discovery, preparing exhibits, and conducting legal research.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, and court appearances; advocate effectively in settlement discussions and negotiations.
  • Handle workers' compensation claims and related regulatory compliance matters, ensuring strict adherence to statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare clear, persuasive legal writing including briefs, memoranda, demand letters, and regulatory filings.
  • Coordinate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and external counsel to ensure efficient case management and timely deliverables.
  • Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and manage client billing and matter budgets.
  • Stay current on developments in civil law, workers compensation, and regulatory frameworks relevant to practice areas.
  • Contribute to practice growth through client development, presentations, and participation in professional networks.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar (or pending admission).
  • 3+ years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience in client counseling, contract drafting, litigation, negotiation, and case management.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with a proven ability to draft persuasive briefs, motions, and agreements.
  • Familiarity with civil law and regulatory compliance practices applicable to the firm's client base.
  • Experience handling workers' compensation claims and associated procedures is highly desirable.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills; comfortable in hearings, mediations, and client meetings.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills for working with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency with legal case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and e-filing systems.
