Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity, beginning early September 2026 through mid-June 2027, is conveniently located near Methuen, MA, providing both full-time and part-time scheduling options to suit your preferences. As a key member of the educational team, you’ll play a vital role in fostering independence and learning for students with visual impairments through tailored instruction and specialized support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Massachusetts Visually Impaired Teacher License (VI Teacher License)
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Education (DOE) License
- Successful completion of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTELs)
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with instructional staff, administration, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, both in small groups and one-on-one
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom resources for optimal accessibility
- Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to develop and implement effective strategies and accommodations
- Provide ongoing assessments and progress reports on student development
- Advocate for student needs and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Remain onsite throughout assignment duration; remote work is not available for this role
