Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As a key member of the educational team, you’ll play a vital role in fostering independence and learning for students with visual impairments through tailored instruction and specialized support.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Massachusetts Visually Impaired Teacher License (VI Teacher License)
• Valid Massachusetts Department of Education (DOE) License
• Successful completion of the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTELs)
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with instructional staff, administration, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, both in small groups and one-on-one
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom resources for optimal accessibility
• Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to develop and implement effective strategies and accommodations
• Provide ongoing assessments and progress reports on student development
• Advocate for student needs and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
• Remain onsite throughout assignment duration; remote work is not available for this role
