Job Description
Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a unique and rewarding opportunity to provide speech-language pathology services in a specialized charter school setting supporting students with Autism. Located near the scenic Grand River Valley and beautiful Lake Erie, this contract position offers the chance to work within a close-knit, collaborative educational environment.
You’ll play a critical role for a small student body (currently about 30, with growth anticipated up to 45) across two nearby sites. With a low staff-to-student ratio (1:2), you’ll have the time and support needed to make a meaningful impact. Caseload ranges from K-12, with most students requiring ongoing speech therapy, often utilizing communication devices such as Proloquo2Go and LAMP. This role is open to experienced SLPs, including those willing to obtain Ohio licensure and ODE credentials.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Active SLP-CCC or eligibility, plus willingness to secure OH licensure/ODE
• Experience in pediatric settings, Autism support, and/or teletherapy
• Familiarity with AAC devices and Medicaid billing is highly valued
• Comfortable working on-site with a cooperative, multidisciplinary team environment
• Genuine passion for student-centered support and group facilitation
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct speech therapy and collaborate with occupational therapists
• Co-host social/pragmatic skills groups tailored to students’ needs
• Provide ongoing support for communication device users
• Handle Medicaid billing as needed (IEP/evaluation duties only for Medicaid eligible students)
• Participate in cross-disciplinary meetings and staff development opportunities
Enjoy a balanced schedule, approximately 6 hours per day, leaving ample time to explore the charm and outdoor recreation of wine country, beaches, and picturesque landscapes. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to support your wellbeing.
