Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher License and current MA Department of Education (DOE) certification
- Successful completion of the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTELs)
- Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments in school settings strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, accessible instructional materials, and inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Organized, adaptable, and able to develop tailored lesson plans
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative vision services to students in accordance with each Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Adapt curriculum and instructional resources to meet the specific needs of students with visual impairments
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and family members
- Conduct functional vision assessments and provide input for educational planning
- Track student milestones, maintain thorough service documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
