Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric (PEDS) position is located in Kodiak, Alaska. The role involves providing specialized respiratory care for pediatric patients in an acute care setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. This is a rotating shift position, and the minimum hours per week are 36.

Job Details:

  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license (pending license accepted, takes 10-12 weeks), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification, no specific experience required, candidates must be willing to work 36 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: The position involves adult critical care and emergency department skills such as extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, sputum collection, tracheostomy care/management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation. The assignment starts on 07/06/2026, with a minimum of 50 miles distance from the candidates permanent address to the facility. Candidates must submit a copy of certifications and specific charting experience with Epic. References covering one year (or six months for CNAs) within the past three years are required.
  • Additional Qualifications: No preferred qualifications are specified. Candidates must accept hospital-provided housing if offered.
  • Float: No.
  • Additional Information: Candidates should be prepared to work two major holidays out of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. They will work within the hospital or to nearby affiliated hospitals as needed.
