Join a Mission That Changes Lives

For 97 years, The Seeing Eye—the world’s first dog guide school—has helped people who are blind or visually impaired gain greater independence, dignity, and confidence through the partnership of Seeing Eye® dogs. From our beautiful Morristown, NJ campus and state of the art breeding station, our dedicated team supports the training of about 275 dog guide teams each year.

As a Kennel Assistant, you’ll play a hands on role in preparing these remarkable dogs for their future work. If you love dogs, enjoy active days, and want to be part of something truly meaningful, this is a rare opportunity to make a difference.

???? What You’ll Do

• Spend much of your day exercising dogs in supervised playgroups

• Support the physical and emotional well being of our dogs

• Assist with feeding, bathing, and basic medical care, including helping clinic staff with medications

• Provide daily care for 24+ dogs

• Maintain clean, safe kennel environments—indoors and outdoors

• Pitch in with additional tasks to ensure exceptional care for every dog

???? What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience in a kennel, barn, or veterinary setting is helpful, but a love of dogs and a strong work ethic are just as important

• Ability to work 10 hour shifts (6:15 a.m. – 5:45 p.m.)

• Someone who thrives in a physically active, team oriented environment

• Reliability, compassion, and a commitment to high quality animal care

❤️ Why This Role Feels Special

You won’t just be caring for dogs—you’ll be helping shape the future partners of people who rely on them for independence. Every day brings purpose, connection, and the joy of knowing your work truly matters.
