Position Summary
The Residential Support Staffis responsible fordaily interactions with shelter residents, ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and security of the facility. This role fosters a supportive and welcoming environment for all clients, responding to emergencies as needed and contributing to the overall success of the Coalitions programs.
WhatYoullDo
- Ensure safety and security of residents and facility
- Enforce shelter rules and program policies
- Conduct client intakes and prepare rooms
- Respond to emergencies and provide crisis support
- Monitor security systems and facility areas
- Document client observations and concerns
- Maintain client privacy and professional boundaries
- Perform shift tasks and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;accurateandtimelydocumentation essential
- Microsoft Officeproficiency
- Demonstrated reliability and commitment to the mission of the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless
Preferred:
- Post-high school education or experience in a residential setting
- Experience working with homeless or low-income populations
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong communicationand organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of shelter operations, safety, and security protocols
Work Schedule
- Part Time- 8 Hour Shifts(Flexible)
- Shelteroperates7 days per week
- Weekday, evening, and weekendopenings
- Rotating on-call schedule
Physical Requirements
- In-person work
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Regular use of computer, phone, and office equipment
