Job Description
Quakertown Veterinary Clinic (QVC) is seeking motivated and compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistants to join our team!
We are a full-service veterinary hospital located in Bucks County, PA, providing both routine care and 24/7 emergency services for a wide variety of animals. In this role, you’ll be directly supporting our Veterinary Technicians and helping ensure patients receive high-quality, compassionate care.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in veterinary medicine or currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program.
What You’ll DoAs a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you’ll play an important support role in daily patient care and hospital operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with animal care, including walking dogs and basic daily needs
- Cleaning cages, stalls, litter boxes, and maintaining a sanitary environment
- Washing dishes, water bowls, and general hospital cleaning tasks
- Sweeping, mopping, and helping maintain overall hospital cleanliness
- Restraining animals safely during exams and procedures (dogs, cats, and some large animals, including horses)
- Washing and folding laundry and stocking supplies
- Setting up and breaking down exam rooms and surgical suites
- Assisting with client interactions and hospital visitations
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Must be available for daytime and evening shifts
- Select holidays required to support 24/7 hospital operations
- Additional compensation available for overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Experience with animal handling (preferred but not required)
- Strong interest in veterinary medicine or technician training programs
- Ability to remain calm and gentle when handling animals
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
- Ability to Maintain a professional presence, including communication, appearance, and conduct
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs regularly
- Ability to see clearly at close range, differentiate colors, and adjust focus
