The Cat Doctor — a feline-only practice serving Philadelphia since 1983 — is seeking an experienced, compassionate veterinary technician with leadership experience to join us as our Lead Technician.

About the role
The Lead Veterinary Technician works closely with the Medical Director and Practice Manager to support workflow, medical quality, patient comfort, and client experience. This is a hands-on leadership role — you set the tone on the floor.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time: 40 hours/week

• Average 8-hour shifts

• Weekends required

• Pay: negotiable based on experience/skills

Key responsibilities

• Train, mentor, and support technicians + assistants

• Maintain workflow efficiency and standards of care

• Provide skilled feline anesthesia & surgical monitoring (required)

• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients

• Support a calm, positive team culture

Requirements

• 3+ years in veterinary medicine

• Anesthesia experience (required)

• Leadership experience preferred

• CVT/LVT/RVT certification or current enrollment preferred

• Not an entry-level position
