Job Description:
Columbia University Department of Radiology is seeking experienced Mammography Technologists to join its breast imaging team. These positions will support outpatient mammography services and provide high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring exceptional patient care and safety.
The ideal candidate will have strong mammography experience, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced imaging environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing screening and diagnostic mammography examinations
- Preparing and positioning patients for imaging procedures
- Operating mammography equipment and ensuring image quality
- Maintaining compliance with MQSA, departmental, and regulatory standards
- Providing compassionate patient care and education throughout procedures
- Collaborating with radiologists and breast imaging teams
- Maintaining accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Following radiation safety and infection control protocols
- Assisting with quality assurance and equipment maintenance activities
Requirements:
- Active Mammography Technologist certification and licensure as required
- ARRT Certification required
- Mammography certification required
- Strong knowledge of breast imaging procedures and protocols
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient imaging environment
