Physical Therapist - Outpatient Job Description
Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages with medical problems or health-related conditions that limit their ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. They also work to prevent the loss of mobility by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Physical therapists provide care in various settings, including hospitals, private practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, sports and fitness facilities, work settings, and nursing homes. State licensure is required in each state where a physical therapist practices.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
- Provide educational information to patients regarding injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy.
- Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.
- Must have SC PT license (must be attached to resume).
- Must have 2 years of recent PT experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Must have BLS certification, must be attached to submission packet (must be through the American Heart Association).
This position will be for Outpatient care. Shifts will be Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Weekend requirements include occasional coverage for acute care evaluations every 5 weeks.
