Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 1+ years experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures including structural heart cases
Details
- Work in a very busy cardiac catheterization lab at a major teaching hospital and Level IV Trauma Center
- Adult cardiology and structural cardiology patient population
- Average daily census of 35-45 patients
- Staffing ratio of 1:1
- Procedures include LHC, RHC, PCI, CTO, Impella, IABP, ECMO, TPM, shockwave, IVUS, Pneumbra, TAVR, and Watchman
- Mitral and Tricuspid valve procedures expected to begin around October
- Uses Siemens Artiz Z & Q radiology equipment, Impella, IABP, Philips Volcano IVUS, BSC IVUS, Abbott CTO devices, and Shockwave
- Charting and EHR system is Cerner
- 3x12hr day shifts from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM
- One weekend shift per month (Friday evening to Monday morning) every 4-5 weeks
- Call requirements include 2 weekday nights (7 PM to 6:30 AM) and weekend call every 4-5 weeks (Friday 7 PM to Monday 6:30 AM)
- Two rotating call teams alternate primary and backup call every 12 hours over the weekend
- Holiday coverage may be required if it falls on scheduled call
- No floating to sister facilities required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience required, including competency in diagnostic and interventional procedures and structural heart cases
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT(BD) and ARRT(R) certification required
- Must be ARRT registered and hold an active West Virginia state license prior to starting the assignment; pending license accepted at time of submission
- RCIS or RCES certification alone is not accepted in lieu of required licensure for this position
- License required if applicable
- Prior traveler experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Must reside within 100 miles of the facility (75-99 miles may be considered with facility approval)
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including structural heart interventions
- Must be willing to stay until all cases are completed and maintain a flexible schedule
- Facility is a major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
- Short-term acute care facility with 838 total staffed beds
- Scrubs are provided
- Free parking available for travelers
- No RTO restrictions
