Position Summary
A CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography equipment, ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for CT examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Verify patient identity and review physician orders.
- Position patients correctly on the CT scanner.
- Operate CT imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
- Administer contrast media when authorized and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Follow radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and themselves.
- Assess image quality and repeat scans when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report malfunctions.
- Adhere to hospital, clinic, and regulatory standards.
CA license - Required BLS - Required ARRT - Required
