Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVU experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Night shift position with 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- CVICU setting within an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
- Patient population includes cardiothoracic surgery, open heart, TAVR, post-cath lab, and post-cardiac surgery patients with telemetry
- ICU patient ratio is 1:1; telemetry patient ratio is 2:1
- Floating required within service line to other cardiac units as needed
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period (every other weekend)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic used for charting; experience required
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending IL license may be accepted with notation
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of CVU/CVICU nursing experience required
- Experience with hemodynamics and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- Post-op nursing experience required
- Cardiac assistive device experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Holiday coverage is required as needed
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Navy scrubs required
- Free parking on-site
