Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Dept position at a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center in Rockport, ME, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED or critical care experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Emergency Department setting currently undergoing expansion (future state: 20 beds, 3 behavioral health beds within a locked unit, and 2 triage rooms)
- Specialty focus: Emergency Department and Critical Care
- Patient population includes general ED patients as well as behavioral health and medical/psychiatric swing bed patients
- Patient ratio: 4:1 to 5:1
- EMR: Epic
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with some evening shifts
- 36-hour work week; every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- No call or on-call responsibilities
- No float requirements within the unit; however, a 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed
Requirements
- Active ME RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2–5 years of Emergency Department and/or Critical Care nursing experience required
- Driver's License required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- The ED is a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center
- The ED is currently under construction; flexibility with workflow changes is expected
- The unit operates with a team-based approach; strong communication and documentation skills are essential
- Scrub color: any solid color; professional attire required
- Mandatory education modules through the facility's education department must be completed
- Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at time of consideration
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
