Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a day-shift, weekend-based position requiring ARRT registration and advanced CT certification.
Details
- CT department within an outpatient/hospital imaging setting
- 3x12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
- No on-call required
- Uses Epic EMR and IMPAX/PACS systems
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science
- Must be registered with ARRT or registry eligible; registry-eligible candidates must provide a copy of their diploma from an accredited program
- Advanced certification in CT required
- Current BLS (HCP) certification required
- Proficiency with PACS operation, image transmission, multi-planar and 3D reconstruction, CT algorithms, window and level setting, and IV/oral contrast administration
- Experience with IV line establishment and contrast eligibility determination
- Two professional references required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing CT scans per protocol, manipulating and reconstructing image data (multi-planar and 3D), and selecting appropriate window and level settings
- Administers oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients, verifies contrast eligibility, and checks relevant lab values prior to injection
- Manages image transfer via PACS, Epic, and IMPAX service tools, including order management, QC station verification, and charge accuracy
- Verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, documents pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age, and ensures patient safety throughout procedures
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment and documenting incidents as improvement opportunities
- Precepts new employees and students as part of regular responsibilities
- Candidates must become ARRT registered within one year if registry eligible and must maintain registry status and continuing education annually
- Drug screen results are required prior to start; candidates should be prepared to complete this step promptly upon commitment
