Position Overview

Maybelline DMI is seeking a highly creative and strategic Packaging Designer to lead the design vision and execution of packaging across multiple product categories. This role combines creative excellence, AI-powered design innovation, sustainability leadership, and technical collaboration to develop world-class beauty packaging from concept through production.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating innovative, consumer-focused, and sustainable packaging solutions while partnering closely with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Product Development, Regulatory, and external vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design Innovation & Strategy
- Lead packaging design strategy across all Maybelline product categories.
- Develop innovative and sustainable packaging concepts from ideation through production.
- Create design systems that ensure brand consistency while supporting category-specific requirements.
- Design compelling consumer experiences and memorable "unboxing" moments.
- Translate consumer insights into breakthrough packaging solutions.
- Utilize modern design tools including:
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Adobe Firefly
- AI-assisted design platforms
- 3D rendering software
- Drive innovation through emerging technologies and creative methodologies.
Sustainability Leadership
- Champion eco-friendly and circular packaging solutions.
- Incorporate:
- Recyclable materials
- Eco-conscious substrates
- Reduced packaging waste
- Sustainable manufacturing practices
- Evaluate environmental impact and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ensure sustainability remains central throughout the packaging development lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and material optimization.

- 2D Renderings
- 3D Renderings
- AI-generated Visualizations
- Production Artwork
- Maintain and evolve Packaging Design Guidelines and Brand Rulebooks.
- Present creative concepts and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Support press checks and production approvals when required.
Trend Intelligence & Innovation
- Stay current on:

Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Packaging Designer.

- Exceptional visual design and conceptualization skills.
- Strong packaging production knowledge.
- Deep understanding of materials, printing techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating innovative packaging work.
- Expert-level proficiency in:

- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with:
- 3D Rendering Software
- AI Design Platforms
