Behavioral Swim Coach / Swim Instructor Sierra Swim Academy - Reno, NV About Us Sierra Swim Academy is not your typical swim school. We specialize in teaching infants, children, and adults through a behavior-based, trust-first approach that focuses on building confidence, safety, and lifelong swimming skills. We believe every child learns differently, and we teach the child before we teach the skill. Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and reliable Behavioral Swim Coach to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with children, enjoys being active, and understands that teaching is about connection, communication, and trust-not just swimming. No competitive swimming background is required. We can teach swim techniques. What we cannot teach is a genuine love for children and a positive attitude. Responsibilities * Teach private and small-group swim lessons to children of various ages and abilities * Build trust and rapport with children and families * Observe and respond to individual learning styles, emotions, and behaviors * Create a safe, encouraging, and fun learning environment * Follow Sierra Swim Academy's behavioral teaching philosophy and curriculum * Maintain professionalism and clear communication with parents * Assist with pool safety and daily operations * Participate in training and ongoing development Ideal Candidate * Loves working with children * Patient, positive, and emotionally intelligent * Reliable and punctual * Comfortable in the water * Willing to learn our unique teaching methods * Strong communication skills * Able to remain calm under pressure * Team-oriented and coachable * CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Experience The following experience is helpful but not required: * Swim instruction * Lifeguarding * Coaching * Teaching * Childcare * Early childhood education * Behavioral or psychology-related fields Schedule * Part-time with opportunity for growth * Afternoons, evenings, and some weekends available * Seasonal and year-round opportunities Compensation * Competitive pay based on experience * Paid training provided * Opportunities for advancement and leadership roles What Makes This Position Different?
