Yard Manager

Dynamic, rapidly growing, well-established, reputable provider of lumber and landscaping materials is in need of a Yard Manager. Responsibilities will include loading & unloading deliveries (use of forklifts), inventory of materials, scheduling deliveries, managing the yard, assisting with loads, and handling all customer requests. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with and manage a variety of individuals to ensure on-time delivery and scheduling. If you have a can-do attitude that enjoys working independently, and prides itself on excellent customer service and timely, accurate distribution of product, you may qualify for this position. 

Responsibilities:

·         Scheduling deliveries, vehicles, equipment, and materials to locations

·         Loading & Unloading materials onto trucks

·         Oversees all delivery drivers to ensure they are working as efficiently as possible

·         Monitor Inventory and tracking of all materials including equipment in the yard  

·         Placing Purchase orders when necessary

·         Maintain company equipment and tools to make sure they are serviced and working properly

·         Advising Management of stock levels within the yard 

·         Adhere to customers requests/orders of immediate needs

·         Oversee and trail yard staff

·         Communicating directly with other employees in order to provide materials, in a timely manner

·         Ensure proper handling and storage of all materials

·         Always maintain a neat and clean yard  

Qualifications:

·         Two (2) years of experience with yard, materials in a management role

·         Must posses’ strong leadership, communication, problem solving, decision making and organization skills

·         Experience with lumber, mechanical equipment and other materials

·         Must be dependable and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

·         Ability to operate equipment including bobcats, skid steers, and forklifts  

·         Strong customer service skills

·         Knowledge of landscaping materials is preferred

·         Ability to schedule and dispatch drivers with proper routes to ensure on time delivery  

·         Forklift certification preferred

·         DOT Certified

·         Ability to lift 100 pounds

·         Ability to work outside in all climates

·         High School Diploma or GED
