Construction Laborer

Position Summary:
TransCore is seeking dependable Construction Laborers to support infrastructure projects, including work performed in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This role involves manual labor, installation work, and general field support in a construction environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform underground utility construction, including conduit and fiber optic cable installation
• Assist with concrete work (flatwork) and general construction tasks
• Install equipment such as cameras, detectors, cabinets, poles, and foundations
• Install electrical and data conductors and connect components as required
• Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
• Dig trenches manually or with equipment (e.g., mini-excavator)
• Complete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timely
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Support additional labor-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 100 lbs
• Ability to work at heights (up to 40–80 feet) using appropriate equipment
• Ability to travel for short periods and work nights, as required
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior construction or general labor experience
• CDL A license
• Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification
• Basic computer skills

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Successful completion of a background check, which may include FDLE and/or project-specific screening requirements where applicable
• Pre-employment drug screening, consistent with applicable law
