Mechanical Assembler - Temp to hire
The Mechanical Assembler performs various electronic assembly operations on components or subassemblies. This position may use schematics, blueprints, wiring lists and verbal and/or written instructions to assemble, rework, or reassemble units. Assignments are moderately complex and personal judgment may be used to resolve problems. The Mechanical Assembler follows, identifies problem areas and documents recommended solutions.

Pay Rate:
$22-25/hr depending on experience

Schedule/Hours:

7:00 AM-3:30 PM Monday-Friday

Responsibilities and Duties:
· Solders cables to connectors.
· Assembles through hole and surface mount assemblies.
· Assembles complex mechanical assemblies.
· Interfaces directly with customer.
· Inspects, tests, and adjusts completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
· Assembles parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies or frames, using hand tools and power tools.
· Performs basic functional test and ICT test.
· Positions, aligns, and adjusts parts for proper fit and assembly.
· Connects cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications.
· Attaches name plates and marks identifying information on parts.
· Reads blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units.
· Disassembles units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping.
· Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge (position requirements at entry):
· Understand and execute circuit-cam and work instructions.
· Mechanical assembly requirements and material handling.
· Components and circuits and their interfaces at a subassembly level.
· Lead and Lead Free Solder applications.
· IPC 610 (Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3)
· Understanding of ESD.
· Torque Drivers, Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Power drivers.

Minimum Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
· 1 year of experience in the assembly of electronic assemblies.
· Understand and execute circuit-cam and work instructions.
· Basic working knowledge and experience with computers.
· Use and Identification of hand tools such as power drivers, wire cutters, nut drivers, torque wrenches, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
· Soldering experience.
· Previous experience with standard operating procedures.
· Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance and/or repair.

Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to frequently lift 15 lbs. to 50 lbs. in an 8 hour shift.
· Occasionally lift up to 35 lbs. in an 8 hour shift.
· Be able to perform light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.
· Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
· Sit or stand for long periods of time.
