Compensation: $20.30-25.30/hr + triannual profit-sharing bonuses!
Location: La Porte/Deer Park, TX

Huyett is a 120+ year old industrial fasteners master distributor with a brand-new state-of-the art fulfillment center in La Porte/Deer Park, TX. As a Delivery Driver, the winning candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of products to customers across the Houston, TX metropolitan area. This individual works closely with all Warehouse Operations teams to ensure loading, transportation, delivery, and unloading is completed in accurate, complete, and timely manner. The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Safely operate powered material moving equipment (forklift) and company provided over-the-road (non-CDL) vehicles as assigned to execute loading and delivery tasks, including but not limited to, flatbed or box trucks, with both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Utilize company computer systems to receive delivery orders and manage destination routes.
• Provide pleasant customer service and issue resolutions to customers at delivery sites, representing Huyett’s brand in alignment with our Core Values.
• Effectively communicate with other staff, namely: Warehouse Packaging, Receiving, Shipping, and Customer Service in a customer-oriented manner to ensure successful and safe delivery. This includes both oral and written/typed communications as applicable.
• Complete all functions a safe, efficient, and compliant-manner cognizant of Company policy, local traffic laws, and “6-S”/LEAN principles of effective processing.
• Complete other duties to support effective Warehouse operations as assigned; this includes but is not limited to physically handling products with safe lifting techniques to stage, stock, or pull orders.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to communicate verbally with others.
• Computer literacy and ability to utilize mechanical and basic office equipment.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work without close supervision.
• Ability to lift 20-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work Power Equipment (Forklift,). In-house training provided.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Experience operating over-the-road vehicles for company delivery systems with a safe driving record. Active driver’s license required. Active CDL license is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Experience working in warehousing/distribution operations.
• Excellent organizational, time management and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and follow up with stakeholders on completion of tasks in a self-directed manner.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and/or environment.

Work Environment: This is a manufacturing plant environment.  Exposure to high temperatures, moving machinery, moving equipment, heights and confined spaces.
