Seasonal SFP Scale Attendant

The purpose of this position is assist in the flow of trucks into the cannery yard and scale, assuring that trucks are positioned correctly to minimize traffic entering the scale and entering the yard efficiently.

Essential Functions

• Meet and greet each truck, including any sub-haulers and other company trucks entering the scale area. Direct trucks into the line for the scale in an order that minimizes traffic leading up to the scale and on the road.
• Identify and report any damage that may occur as drivers are entering the scale area, or other incidents in the yard that are safety related, out of the ordinary or are in opposition to company policy/practices or SFP’s parking/drop-off rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Specifications

Education

• High School diploma or GED.

Technical Training

• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and general public.
• Valid California drivers license and acceptable DMV printout.

Work Environment

• Field environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust and dirt.
• Exposure to heavy moving traffic.

Physical / Mental Abilities

• Self motivated and detail oriented; work with minimum supervision.
• Required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, intermittently.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb, including ability to ascend and descent ladders and stairs.
