Environmental Health and Safety Manager / Manufacturing Facility

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will lead safety and environmental initiatives at our high-volume food manufacturing and warehouse facility in Benicia, CA. In this role, you will foster a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with federal, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements. This position offers a salary range of $85,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Lead and maintain facility compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, with a heavy emphasis on Cal/OSHA standards for both manufacturing and warehousing.
• EH&S Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S programs that support production operations, equipment use, and manufacturing processes.
• Food Safety Integration: Partner with Quality Assurance teams to ensure EHS practices align with GFMP standards.
• Incident Management: Lead root-cause investigations for any near-misses, injuries, or environmental incidents; implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Training & Development: Design and deliver engaging, hands-on safety training programs for floor workers, warehouse staff, and leadership teams.
• Risk Mitigation: Conduct routine facility audits, hazard assessments, and ergonomic evaluations to continuously improve our safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a closely related field (Required).
• Experience: 3-5 years of progressive EHS management experience, specifically within industrial environments like food manufacturing or food logistics.
• Knowledge: Direct working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations and hazard communications.
• Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred.
• Food Standards: Familiarity with SQF, Safe Quality Food standards, and HACCP principles.
• Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish
