- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation
- Support patient care plans by providing companionship and emotional support tailored to individual needs
- Administer medications under supervision following proper protocols and aseptic techniques
- Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper hand hygiene, using PPE, and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Document patient information accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks
Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and patient record management
- Experience in acute care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; familiarity with infectious disease protocols is highly valued
- Strong caregiving skills demonstrated through previous roles in geriatrics, pediatrics, home & community care or post-acute environments
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients of all ages—including children—and collaborating with healthcare teams
