Job Description
The Morning Jump Coffee Company is looking for a Shift Supervisor who can take command of both the front of house and the kitchen.
We are a high-volume, high-energy shop. We don’t just need someone who can make great coffee; we need a leader who possesses "Owner’s Eyes"—someone who sees what needs to be done before they are told and takes full ownership of the shop's output. If you are a self-motivated professional who thrives under pressure and knows how to lead a kitchen crew through a rush, this is your spot.
As a Shift Supervisor, you are the "Captain" of your shift, responsible for the synergy between the front-of-house and the kitchen.
- Kitchen Authority: You own the food line. You ensure every burrito and sandwich is built to spec, tickets are flowing quickly, and food safety/prep standards are never compromised.
- Lead the Rush: You set the pace. When the line hits the door, you are the one ensuring speed and accuracy while keeping the team focused.
- Operational Integrity: You provide "in-the-moment" coaching. You aren't here to be "one of the gang"—you are here to ensure the shop runs perfectly.
- Equipment & Shop Care: You take pride in our tools. You’ll perform preventative maintenance on espresso machines, grinders, and kitchen equipment to ensure zero downtime.
The Physical Requirements
Our shop is a physical environment! You must be able to:
- Stand for up to 8 hours and move quickly and constantly.
- Lift 40 pounds and sustain repetitive motion with hands/wrists.
- Availability: Must be available for early mornings (starting at 4:30 AM), weekends, and varied shifts.
Compensation: A Path to Leadership
- Training Phase: $13.00/hr flat. Master the bar, the kitchen builds, and the workflow.
- The Lead Phase: Once you've cleared training and are pulling your weight, you enter our highly competitive tip pool (averaging an additional $7–$10/hr).
- Supervisor Rate: Once you have fully taken ownership of kitchen leadership, floor management, and equipment care, your base rate will increase.
