Production Operator
Schedule
- Full-time, overnight shift
- Rotating 4 days on / 4 days off schedule
- 12-hour shifts (or specify exact hours if known)
- Includes weekends and holidays as part of the rotation schedule
- Overtime opportunities may be available based on production needs
The Production Operator is responsible for supporting daily production activities through material handling, equipment operation, and process support. This hands-on role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient production flow by loading raw materials, monitoring equipment operation, and moving finished products throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load raw materials, including wood chips, biomass, and other feedstocks, into processing equipment using forklifts, loaders, or similar machinery.
- Monitor material flow and production processes to ensure consistent throughput and operational efficiency.
- Transfer, stage, and load finished products into barrels, containers, or designated storage areas for shipment or further processing.
- Operate forklifts, loaders, and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance to support reliable operation.
- Troubleshoot and clear minor equipment jams, blockages, or material buildup as needed.
- Complete pre-shift and post-shift equipment checks and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by managing debris, spills, and excess materials.
- Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with additional production and facility tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, agriculture, construction, warehousing, or a similar hands-on industrial environment.
- Experience operating forklifts, loaders, skid steers, or other heavy equipment preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to adapt to changing production priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment, heavy machinery, dust, and industrial production processes.
- Capable of remaining active and engaged in a physically demanding work environment for extended periods.
