PICKUP AND DELIVERY DRIVER
Company: Global Initiative Solution (GIS)
Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia and Surrounding Areas
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Starting at $21.00 - $25.00 per hour with performance-based increases up to $23.00 per hour and beyond.
Position Summary
Global Initiative Solution (GIS) is seeking dependable, safety-focused Pickup and Delivery Drivers to support package delivery operations throughout Parkersburg and surrounding rural communities. Drivers will operate company-provided delivery vans and are responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of packages while maintaining excellent customer service.
This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently while adhering to all company, customer, and safety requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Safely operate company delivery vehicles on assigned routes.
• Pick up and deliver packages to residential and commercial customers.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records using handheld scanners and routing technology.
• Load and unload packages in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed according to schedule and service requirements.
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and customer requirements.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with customers.
• Report vehicle issues, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with route planning and operational efficiency initiatives when requested.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to safely operate a delivery van in rural, urban, and adverse weather conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use handheld scanners and mobile delivery applications.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to enter and exit a delivery vehicle repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Work Schedule
• Five and one-half day work week.
• Saturday rotation may be required.
• Overtime opportunities may be available based on operational needs.
