Grant Analyst

The Grant Analyst is responsible for preparing and managing budgets for assigned programs, maintaining accurate fiscal records, and ensuring timely financial reporting. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a reliable multi-tasker committed to meeting deadlines and supporting the financial integrity of grant-funded programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets for assigned programs, including initial preparation, modifications, and data entry in accounting software
• Produce and submit financial reports to funding sources
• Perform monthly vouchering of expense reports and process program invoices
• Review and approve spending requests from Program Directors
• Prepare journal entries for monthly reporting and biweekly payroll distribution
• Allocate expenses and manage methodology for expense distribution to programs
• Record NYS unemployment and fringe benefits expenses for assigned programs
• Approve payroll changes and reconcile them with program budgets
• Conduct bank statement and petty cash reconciliations
• Prepare documentation and support for audits and year-end closeouts
• Digitize documents and maintain financial databases
• Monitor and maintain budget variance reports
• Assist fiscal staff and perform additional financial tasks as requested by CFO and Assistant Controller

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with not-for-profit bookkeeping/fund accounting
• Familiarity with FundEz software
