Research & Development Associate (Science)

Our client, in consumer cleaning goods manufacturing is seeking an R&D Associate (Science) to join their team. The ideal candidate will have chemistry, formulation, and team playing skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Research & Development Associate (Science)

Location: Montvale, NJ (local candidates needed)

Contract: 1 Year (extension possible)

Pay Range: $40 - $50 hourly

What’s the Job?

• Develop new products and technologies driven by consumer insights to support brand initiatives.
• Lead projects through the product development process as the R&D representative.
• Collaborate cross-functionally, including with Marketing, to prioritize, execute, and achieve project goals.
• Drive multiple innovation projects and establish technical product strategies for short- and long-term growth.
• Strengthen innovation capabilities and team performance through system improvements, coaching, and professional development.

What’s Needed?

• BS/BA with 5+ years, MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of relevant experience in Personal Care or Surface Care.
• Proven track record of delivering technical projects in an FMCG environment.
• Strong understanding of product development from concept to launch.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including timeline control and stakeholder coordination.
• Solid formulation expertise and understanding of chemical interactions.
• Knowledge of intellectual property, licensing, competitive intelligence, and regulatory frameworks (EPA, FDA, BPR).
