Mechanic

Position Summary

We are seeking a certified, experienced Automotive Technician who is comfortable working as a self-employed 1099 contractor on a flat rate pay system. You must be highly proficient in diagnostics, repairs, and general service work across a wide variety of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on all makes and models (cars, trucks, SUVs)
• Conduct computer diagnostics and module programming
• Install and balance tires
• Perform wheel alignments
• Exhaust system repairs and replacement (including welding and fabrication)
• Handle major mechanical repairs (engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes steering, etc.)
• Repair or replace parts as needed
• Accurately document work performed and parts used
• Maintain a clean safe work environment

Requirements

• ASE Certification (or equivalent manufacturer certifications) strongly preferred
• Minimum 5+ years Experience of professional automotive repair experience
• Strong diagnostic skills with modern (scan tools, lab scopes etc.)
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a big plus
• Ability to work efficiently on flat rate (must be able to complete jobs within or under book time)
• Own your own tools (shop provides lifts, diagnostic equipment, and major shop tools)
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Must be authorized to work as a self- employed independent contractor (1099)

Compensation

• Flat Rate Pay - Competitive book hours rate (we will discuss specifics based on your experience and productivity)
• Paid per completed job (you control your earnings based on efficiency and quality)
• Steady work volume with a mix of quick services and major repairs
• Potential for high earnings for fast, accurate technicians

Work Schedule: Full-time preferred (flexible hours available for the right candidate). Monday- Friday with some Saturday availability as needed.
