Maintenance Forklift Driver 2nd shift

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facilities while safely operating a stand-up forklift to support material handling needs. This role ensures equipment reliability, workplace safety, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems
• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records
• Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Support installation and setup of new equipment

Forklift Operation

• Safely operate a stand-up forklift to move, load, unload, and stage materials
• Transport materials to production or storage areas as required
• Perform daily forklift inspections (battery, controls, safety features)
• Maintain proper stacking and storage practices to prevent damage or hazards
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or incidents
• Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives

General Duties

• Assist with facility upkeep and minor building repairs
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and management teams
• Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S standards)
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
• Valid stand-up forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

Preferred

• Technical certification or trade school training
• Experience with conveyors, PLCs, or automated systems
• Welding or fabrication skills
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
