Job Description
Local flooring contractor is seeking a full-time Superintendent to join our team. We are looking for a dedicated candidate that is willing to fully commit to the role and support their team members and contracted field work.

- Computer/tech-savvy, i.e.: MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), experience with MeasureSquare take-off software a plus but not required.

- Must be a resident of Osceola County to qualify for position
Experience in commercial flooring a plus but not required. Construction experience required. Compensation will be competitive based on each candidate's experience level and overall qualifications. Superintendent bonus program in place above and beyond base salary.
Position Summary: The Superintendent is the primary field representative and serves as the principal point of contact with the general contractor’s field representative(s), and our subcontractor installers for all active projects. The Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management of field operations, ensuring that installations are completed on schedule, within scope, and at or above company quality standards.
Pre-Construction
Participate in project handoff meetings with the estimator, project manager, and project coordinator to fully understand project scope, bid assumptions, and schedules.
Conduct pre-installation site visits to assess jobsite readiness and identify potential field conditions or conflicts.
Coordinate with the project coordinator on material delivery logistics including delivery location and on-site storage.
Review project plans, specifications, finish schedule, and installation schedules prior to mobilization.
Field Operations
Serve as the primary point of field contact for the general contractor throughout the project
Manage and direct subcontractor/installer crews on a daily basis
Monitor daily field progress against the project schedule and report concerns to the project manager promptly
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor workmanship, productivity, and site conditions
Proactively assess and anticipate changes to jobsite conditions and scope of work in real time to identify any need for Change Orders
Attend required project meetings on behalf of company. Seek Project Manager support on an as-needed basis.
Document daily field activity including work performed, crew size, and any issues or delays
Material Management
Coordinate material deliveries with the project coordinator in advance of installation needs
Verify materials received on site match approved submittals and are free of damage
Manage on-site material storage to prevent damage or loss
Report any material shortages, overages, or discrepancies to the project manager and project coordinator promptly
Subcontractor Management
Direct and oversee installer subcontractor crews on all active projects
Monitor subcontractor workmanship and address quality issues in the field immediately
Consult with Project Manager regarding the review and approval of subcontractor labor invoices against work performed
Document and report any subcontractor performance issues to the project manager
Quality Control
Ensure all installations meet or exceed company quality standards as well as project and manufacturer specifications
Identify and coordinate the correction of all workmanship deficiencies before they become punch list items
Coordinate the completion of punch list work in a timely manner at project closeout
Safety
Ensure all field work is performed in compliance with company's Health & Safety Program
Conduct or oversee job site safety orientations for all field personnel
Document and report any safety incidents or near-misses to company leadership immediately
Closeout
Ensure all punch list items are completed in a timely manner
Collect and submit required field documentation to the project manager (safety reports, time sheets, etc.)
Confirm all unwanted or leftover materials and equipment are removed from the jobsite at project demobilization
Vehicle Maintenance
Ensure company vehicle is maintained per manufacturers specifications
Schedule vehicle service and maintenance as needed through approved service providers, i.e.: dealership(s), third party repair shops, etc.
Keep vehicle clean and presentable, both inside and outside, at all times
Report any vehicle performance issues or damage to project manager, and or company management immediately
Reporting & Communication
Reports directly to the Project Manager
Reports to Business Manager & Controller and company President, i.e.: company management on personnel and operational matters
Communicates daily with the project manager regarding field progress, issues, and schedule
Coordinates with the project coordinator on material deliveries and procurement needs
Assist team with the further, face-to-face development of general contractor and subcontractor relationships
