Assistant Cushion Production Manager

Southern Home is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience measuring, cutting, and sewing fabric for custom furniture cushions and upholstery projects, along with experience managing a small production team and handling administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Measure and cut fabric accurately for cushions and upholstered furniture
• Sew cushions, pillow covers, zippers, welting, and upholstery components
• Read and follow work orders, patterns, and specifications
• Operate industrial sewing machines and related equipment
• Supervise and coordinate workflow for a staff of 5 or more employees
• Train and assist team members to maintain quality and efficiency
• Handle paperwork related to ordering, receiving, and purchase order entry
• Perform general administrative and office duties as needed
• Inspect finished products for quality and consistency
• Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail

Qualifications:

• Previous upholstery or cushion sewing experience required
• Management or supervisory experience overseeing a staff of 5 or more
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, patterns, and cutting techniques
• Ability to use sewing machines
• Experience with purchase orders, receiving, and administrative tasks preferred
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
• Good eye for detail and craftsmanship
• Strong communication and leadership skills
