HVAC Service & Installation Technician
Air Flows Chicago
Position Summary
Air Flows Chicago is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service & Installation Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. We are looking for a dependable professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and indoor air quality equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and recommend necessary repairs or system upgrades.
- Diagnose HVAC system issues and provide effective solutions.
- Install ductwork, thermostats, ventilation systems, and related components.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local building codes and company standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and customer documentation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding services performed and recommendations.
- Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- HVAC installation and service experience preferred.
- EPA Certification required (or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other challenging environments.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- NATE Certification a plus.
- Experience with smart thermostats and indoor air quality products.
- Sheet metal fabrication and ductwork experience.
- Sales experience and ability to identify customer needs.
