Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a dynamic K-12 educational environment supporting students in an urban setting as a contracted school psychologist. This onsite role is centrally located near Lapeer, MI, with needs extending throughout the 2026-2027 school year (August 17 to June 11). As a vital contributor to a multidisciplinary team, you will work approximately 35 hours per week, serving a diverse caseload of about 60 students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification is required
- Official university transcripts must be submitted prior to district presentation
- Prior school psychology or related agency experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations is ideal
- Commitment to working collaboratively in an urban district setting
- Candidates should be prepared to discuss strategies for supporting urban youth and available community resources
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments evaluating cognitive, academic, adaptive, and social-emotional functioning to support special education eligibility determinations
- Collaborate in developing and implementing early identification and intervention strategies for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges
- Communicate assessment findings clearly and compassionately to staff and families, fostering effective educational planning
- Engage consistently with other support staff and participate in ongoing professional development
- Uphold district special education policies and ensure compliance across assigned buildings
- Perform additional assigned duties as needed
