Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) | 9th Grade

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bilingual Therapies is seeking a compassionate and skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI/SPI) for a school-based contract position in Houston, TX. Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and consistent sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school settings
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Support student participation in academic and social activities
• Adapt interpreting style to meet individual student communication needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards at all times
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student success

Qualifications

• Must hold at least one of the four nationally recognized SLI certifications (Required)
• Experience in school-based or educational settings preferred
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication access needs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
