Sign Language Interpreter in Oroville, CA

This full-time, onsite contract position offers approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours daily), spanning both elementary and intermediate school settings. Play a crucial role in facilitating communication for hard of hearing and deaf students, connecting them with their peers, teachers, and school staff. Key Qualifications:

• Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or an EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment score of 4.0 or above
• Candidates with EIPA under 4.0 are encouraged to apply (will be considered as ASL Para)
• Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to provide accurate sign to voice and voice to sign interpreting
• Experience supporting academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, and potentially vocational or daily living skills
• Ability to work effectively with students ranging from elementary to intermediate school, with the flexibility to indicate grade level preference
• Commitment to working exclusively onsite

Primary Responsibilities:

• Foster communication among hard of hearing and deaf students, their hearing peers, and school staff
• Interpret classroom discussions, instructions, and activities for students and staff
• Assist in academic and social development, including support during classroom, outdoor, and community activities
• Monitor and support student engagement and safety throughout the school day
